Anyone have shooting experience with one? Have another 7x57, but want a lighter gun because if my back. Wondering how the XTR shoots with various factory ammo?
If anyone knows where to find one, let me know.

I had one and sold it on here about a year ago. Beautiful rifle. I don't reload so it was factory loads only. It didn't like the hornady 139 grain superformance stuff, and preferred heavy grain bullets. Grouped somewhere around an inch (@ 100m) with the federal blue box 175 grain stuff, and only slightly bigger with the sellior and bellot 173 grain stuff. I would have kept that rifle but prefer my brno ZG47 so kept it instead.

I have 2 in 7x57, one is the wood stock and the other with the factory McMillan stock called the Winlite.
Haven't shot the Winlite yet, but the other loves factory 175 bullets from Federal and Winchester.

Can't speak for any factory offerings, but my M70 FWT 7x57 just loves the 160 Accubond, chased by
a generous load of IMR 4451. Right hand group in the picture below is how well it shoots. Dave.

I would have to agree, 7lbs is not a featherweight, lol. I figured it was probably in the 6-6.5 lb range, but at 7lbs, may not be that much lighter than my Ruger 77 in same caliber. Like my Ruger, was just hoping to find something a bit lighter for the old back.
Thanks for the input, seems they prefer the heavier bullets, which is ok with me, I do too. Anyone know the twist?

If you want to reduce weight see if you can get a plastic stock for it. The drawback is the lighter it goes generally the more you will feel recoil. There are athletic shoulder/back supports you can get as well. It may help.

Unfortunately, I’m a wood guy through and through. Just can’t do plastic. Wasnt aware of the supports, sounds like a man bra, may check that out. 6 and 3/4 lbs though, still would be an improvement for me. I have a line now on an XTR, just have to see if it pans out.

Cat, what were you shooting out of yours?
Danged rifle shot almost everything I tried into 1- 1.5” at 100 but it shot 145 Speers and 160 Seirras really well, under an inch
I settled on the 160 Seirras when I sold it .
Edit note: can’t remember the powder right off but I am pretty sure it was IMR 4350

My brother has one, not sure if it's an XTR...push feed FW in 7x57. He had some accuracy issues with factory ammo and asked me to take a look at it.
Added a pressure point as the stock had a mild warp, replaced the Leupy STD mount as I could slide a piece of paper under both sides of the front mount... don't think they were the correct mounts, used Weavers off my M70.
He wanted some warmer loads for moose, so I loaded up 5 different pills and charges, it did not like any TTSX, was ok with Speer 160 Slams and 175 Deepcurl, but really liked 150gr ABLR, printed those tight, well under 1".
So I give it to him with some ammo, he goes out and reports it's the best it's ever shot but it's 6" to the right. He shoots off a rest slung up...

Matt,

I have one in 7mm-08 (Ballistic twin) I'd let go if that holds any appeal. PM me if you're interested.

Thanks for the kind offer, but kind of stuck on getting a 7x57. You know what it’s like when your stuck on a gun...thanks though!

Be on the look out for a M70 WINLITE.
They are lighter. But again not very common in 7x57
