The race to the bottom seems to be accelerating. There are plenty of better quality used rifles on EE in that price range. There was a time when Mossberg stood for quality. I guess no tears would be shed if it was dropped in a river. To each their own I guess.
I got lots of those already...I enjoy checking out new cheap crap, see how they are designed/made, what's good/bad about them. Budget is $500 for these or less.
I only have one stainless beater...7x64 Zastava, figured it wouldn't hurt to have another...kind of like the 98, not sure I'd lend it out.. I'm sure it's junk too, it was under $500 new lol.
I really had no need for this thing, I'll be the first to admit I have far too many guns I don't shoot often enough, this is the 5th 7mm now in the stable lol.
The barreled action is actually well made and finished, nothing really I could find to gripe about anywhere on it there. The closest thing I would compare it to is the 783's which are decent budget beater guns, quite a lot of similarities.
I had 2 Ruger Americans and the machining, fit and finish were more Norinco then this thing lol, tool marks everywhere, action was rough as hell. This thing is surprisingly smooth.
The stock is meh, again, similar to the 783 dense plastic, better quality then the Axis or American thin plastic flimsy stocks, and they all seem to shoot fine regardless. I'm sure I'll get this pig to shoot well.
Now...if you have a line on an inexpensive 25-06 that's the next thing on my radar. That's one cal I don't have any duplicates of...
