Seems like a heck of an effort though. Gophers, as a rule, don't like tall grass, it makes them vulnerable.

Yeah I agree. Which made it frustrating when they were running around in the grass. I had a harder time shooting the ones around the legs though. Those 10 foot shots always made me laugh, I had to aim so high above them at that range that I put a red dot on my rifle and sighted it in to 15 feet.

204 Ruger is far more devastating. And costs less to shoot than the 300 ultramag or my 7mm
