How was your opening day in BC

I dident go out , So lets hear how your opening day was . If you dident get nothing ,did you see anything? does ,bears etc........ interior? Van Island etc..... anyone hit shawnigan div(deerhome to the victoria people),lake cowichan,sooke? etc...............
 
I had an early cow elk draw (sept 1) for Castlegar area and despite 30C temps my 2 sons and I got a cow on the 3rd. What nice whitetails in that area.
 
Spent the open right where I took a 4pt last year on the open, had a beauty 3 point mulie hang around and the largest fork I have seen in a few years, but didn't find and 4's, good grouse and ptarmigan populations though, will be a good season for birds I hope. I have never seen so many grasshoppers in the Lillooet area as well, should be a great Chukar year next season.
 
my opening day was Sept 2nd, that day was spent elk hunting in the Peace. No elk down that day but an awesome experience, saw three 5x5 bulls and a 4x4, with lots of bugling action.
 
my open starts in 10hrs, I'm pretty skip! Hopefully God will shine down and grace me the luck to blast a critter. It's been an eventful week in my household so I'm hoping the luck keeps rolling.
 
Lots of sign in Cowichan (deer and bear) but zero sightings. Saw six grouse shot one of them. There is SFA out there, went last sunday to scout. Will try elsewhere. Cannot wait for October when I go to Princeton
 
loading up the truck this coming friday to go sit on my early season rock way up behind pemberton (b.c.).... will be watchin for blacktail and maybe hit the basin for a black bear. it's my lucky spot 6 years in a row now.... same day, same rock ;)

Mid day update. Was out at 5 am with my buddy, 1 cow moose, 1 mule doe, 1 whitetail doe, all feeding within a football field area. No bucks:( Buddy had to go to work, so I'm chillin' at home for a few hours, and when my other buddy gets of work I'm going back out:D Also got my trail cam in the mail today, it's a little late but I'll hang it up anyway and see how some of my spots really are! Hopefully there will be a end of the day success story.

As for me, I am all pumped for grouse season.

Pop's never drew his bull tag, so he's going to try to get a calf, and I will likely join him on that hunt as well providing I can get the time off work.

was up at 5am, and in the field from 6am to 9:30. Didnt see a thing, but heard a moose crashing through the bush ahead of me in one spot. Beauty of a morning, but too hot to hunt this afternoon (+28 @ 3pm)
