I bought a used M4 several months ago and the previous owner had replaced the fore end with a nicely machined railed one. It is one of the higher end models but after a summer of hiking with it I really think I'd prefer the stock one (comfort). Does anyone know if it is possible to purchase this part from one of the Turkish clones? I had posted a WTB ad in the EE but people wanted several hundred dollars for one and I am not willing to pay that much.

Thank you in advance everyone :)

You can also order them in from Brownells, I did so to have a spare set when I put my heat shield on (hand guards have to be modified)

Back when I got them they were around 46 bucks US a side and you need to make sure to order both sides.

Brownells part numbers:

301-000-569WB (Right Side)
301-000-568WB (Left Side)

Both are in stock right now, you may be able to get them for less from Stoeger Canada but as a back up Brownells does have them.

If you don't like the railed forend you can probably sell it and get a tad more than it'll cost to get the factory handguards. I'm with you though I like the factory handguards more than the railed types!
