Ithica 37

I got rid of my 37 because probably once a day while hunting I would fire and rack the action without having releasing the trigger and closed up the action with the firing pin already dropped. This saved quite a few pheasant lives!

They sure carry nicely in the field

Jumping ponds for ducks slam firing lets you rake them before they get up. With lighter loads so that the muzzle doesnt rise as much its easy to control and swing and point as you close the action. With practise its very easy to make multiple hits and even take puddlers as they jump. Its all about timing. Like driving stick shift

I had an old beater M37 cut back and an old school Poly-choke added. Barrel and choke is now 24". Perfect length for an upland/beater/ATV blaster.

It actually handles very well and the choke allows me to open it up for close grouse. It's too bad the gunmakers don't make more 24" pumps and semis at least in 20ga for upland.

Not sure if it slam-fires.

Agreed. I have a 1997 built Ithaca Turkeyslayer with 23 inch barrel and I often replace that super full factory choke with Imp Modified internal choke from Colonial with the checkered knurling (3/8 inch) you can fit it by hand.

You can do alot of shotgun tasks with Imp/Mod.
