Hi, this is mainly concerning anyone that owns or has some experience with the Norinco T97 gen2 and purchased the T97.ca lower

Like you must of guest I have recently put my hands on a T97 with the upgraded lower from a fellow GNer. Now the push pins that hold the rifle together is extremely hard to work in and out of the upper and lower. The seller told me this is something all T97 owner experience with the upgrade lower. Everything SEEMS to fit just fine and the pin slides well in its designated holes when the upper and lower are separate but when you want to secure both it is a different story. Feel Like I need to hammer it down with some tool or against a hard surface. Makes stripping the rifle a real hassle.

Tried to contact the manufacturer but with no success (T97.ca / M14.ca)

Can anyone second that?

Also it seems like the T97 dosn't accept all AR mags? Got 2x ASC mags and they wont fit in the magwell... Factory one works fine as expected and so does the Pmags.

Any enlightenment on the matter would be appreciated.

Cheers

Sounds typical.
Chinese QA is spotty at best...
My T97 was real fussy on magazines, one of the reasons I got rid of it.
You can play with the magwell and lightly relieve it to get mags in/out but you won’t get AR style results (in my experience anyway).
As for the bottom I would bet the same thing, pretty hard to make an item that fits perfectly to another item that has shifting tolerances.
T97 makes quality kit, try contacting them as I’m sure it’s not the first time they would have encountered this.
Or sell it and buy something that doesn’t need to be debugged...

I like the rifle, a lot. It is compact and well balanced, with the updated lower trigger and safety are spot on. Mag change really aren't that bad at all.

M14.ca replied to my e-mail with this; "You might relieve some material at the front of the rifle where the pin engages. This should take pressure off."

ill check for the screw set today and just like that what Brand of mags are sure to be a fit other then Pmags? Would like some metal ones.

I will keep an update on the matter

C products mags.

Or just take some material off the spine of any mag and it works.
