A certain non site sponsor that sounds like "Kass Bro" has the standalone press pack for $194 with taxes right now running (I think) till the 26th. There was a similar deal on the whole kit but I don't have details. Snagged the press myself as they're always good to have around!

I called before I went down to get the kit and they said it wasnt on sale. After a long drawn out conversation I finally ended up talking to the manager and I got the kit for 25% off. They had 2 left last night

Remember that on the web site, all prices are in U$. Turns a good deal to a crappy one pretty fast. I almost fell for the scam and luckily read the fine print on the bottom of the page.

Scam? You're being ridiculous. It's an American company, American site, American dollars.

Also, I guess this large splash page is the fine print you speak of?

Hmmm...Do you work for them? It says"welcome Canadian customers" There are stores in Canada. PUT THE PRICES IN CAD$ if you know are welcoming a Canadian customer. Not just in fine print on the bottom of the first page.

$300 CAD at Cabelas. Regular price...

Not to take away from the original post, but the whole USD vs CAD situation with Bass Pro is a pia.
I had a discussion with a local store manager last spring about their pricing. Not only does the US website price not necessarily reflect the in-store price in Canada (i.e. no direct conversion using exchange rate) but there's no rhyme nor reason to it.
The same Hornady ultrasonic cleaner that was $119 USD on the web site was $220 CAD on the shelf in Halifax.
They couldn't explain it, saying only, "We have no control over pricing"
Like many, I'm getting fed up with having to call for pricing in CAD in the local store, and I refuse to order online and have it shipped from the US.
Either run a Canadian business or get out of Canada.

I found this in store at the Bass Pro in Dartmouth NS, not online or at Cabelas. AFAIK the two stores are still run separately with different product lines, acquisition and pricing despite the common ownership.

I quite agree, it hardly seems like they make an effort to sell up here, take a look at the fishing section in Dartmouth. Sometimes deals bleed through though.

Thank God. I thought I was the only one going crazy over this issue. "You made my day".
