Looking for new rifles for training newbies.

Rifle will be shot prone off a bipod at 300 yards.

Want AR mags because they are easy to load. The Savage mags, for example, or tricky for newbies.

Ruger seems to have such a rifle. Anyone try one?

The Ruger will be a good choice but you will have to get the AR mag version through IRG. Something about Ruger not having a product number for a 5 round mag and Ruger not wanting to bother pinning the 10 round mags for us Canucks. IRG will pin the mags so that's why you're able to get one through them.

* I don't see that IRG has the predator model available WITHOUT the scope currently.

Why would the mag need pinning if it is a 10 rounder made for a bolt rifle?

Because even though the rifle is a bolt action the AR-15 magazine that it comes with was made for a semi auto. Hence the 5 round limit.

All you'll need if you get the rifle is some lar-15 10 round AR pistol mags like the MFT mags and your back up and running at 10 rounds.

I have a mvp its laminite with a bull barrel. Its on the heavy side but i use it for coyote so i dont mind the weight. I run lar mags and the feed flawlessly. The gun is very accurate and they can be found for a pretty good price on sale.

Not to derail, but I have the exact same rifle. Haven't started loading for it yet, so wondering what bullet weight you are using for coyotes?

Weight for prone shooting off a bi-pod is not a problem.

Accuracy is important. What kind of groups do your get and with what ammo?

What do these sell for in the store?
