This is my shotgun. There are many like it but this one is mine ....

New arrival about 3 weeks ago or so .....
14" barrel, 4+1 of 2 3/4 - 3", it's a copy of 870 ..... price is very cheap.
it came with alot of packing oil, I took this one apart and cleaned it
with carb cleaner. Grind and polish all sharp edges, now it's nice
and very smooth ....
I'm thinking about parkerizing it and perhaps add on AR rearstock ....

Please refresh my understanding of the People's Republic of Canada's Barrel length laws...

You can have any length barrel you like, as long as it comes from a legal manufacturer (ie. you didn't cut it down in your garage). Any barrel length on a long arm is legal in Canada provided it was made my a manufacturer, and any barrel length on a non-semi auto is non restricted. You can have any barrel length on your semi auto too, but if it drops below 18.5", it is deemed restricted (though still perfectly legal).

The 18.5" rule is to combat "sawed offs" and improvised modifications, not factory guns.

Thanks for that info Ardent.

another question about altering the barrel length, can you reclassify a non-restricted semi-auto rifle to restricted by shortening the barrel? I thought it was not possible to do that?

Bumped for info...

Anyone ELSE have one of these? I picked one up (14" barrel) off of here thinking it was one of the 'new' Norincos - it definatlely is NOT.

The mag tube is a non-standard length. I bought this one for the receiver, but I wont' be able to use it for my 18" police barrel.

Looks like a good blaster, but it won't take any other barrels. As such, it's not much use to me.

I'm gonna sell this one for a loss, I believe. :(

The HP9-1 is the only Norinco which is 'true' 870 copy. The other HP9s have a different magtube.

This Homeland model is something else. The Lawman is a dimensionally different beast all together.

No, cutting the barrel to less than 18 inches (or 18.5 for a semi-auto) would make it prohibited.

"And the question for 2 billion dollars is?"

It's registered as a HP9-1 - which SHOULD be an exact 870 copy. But it ain't. I have two other HP9-1's and they are.

Hence, why is it registered as an HP9-1, when it clearly isn't one? Obviously, you or I can't answer this question.

Homeland security is the same as HP9 by Norinco, I had opportunity to compare both of them, side by side, the Homeland Security (claimed to be Norinco made) has finish not as good (read: poor) as HP9 marked Norincos.
