Id prefer the R length but Nr works better for me right now plus its off the books

The list of mods are
Plug Trigger bar hole to remove slop
Welding the charging handle in
Cutting the receiver so it matches original and allows charging handle to fit
Dimple receiver for rear sight grub screw
Loctite all screws
Remove white lettering
Remove bolt hold open
New mag release spring (clipped pistol recoil spring)
Plugging the threaded holes for the rail mount

Thats what I can think of right now

Did you ever manage to get your hands on this and mod it? A fellow down south was making stainless bars and selling with mag springs. however can’t seem to find the links he is talking about..as well not sure about shipping something like that from down south..

You know what happens when harder material meets softer material especially on critical working components like trigger linkages? Premature accelerated wear on soft parts.
Yes, those components are upgrade-able but more serious work is required then some amateur designed quick solution. Not recommended!

this doesnt make any sense, you can manually create fire with wood rubbing on wood, not wood on steel.

Yes I am well versed in how dissimilar metals wear, and or even corrode while in contact.. if it’s a concern easy enough to drill and put a brass bushing in or sacrificial delron sleeve. I was just stating a fact and asking if anyone had pursued to any degree out of general curiosity.

managed to get my 9mm in my hands and fired off 200 rounds right out of the box, fun to shoot, disappointed with the pinned 5 rounds.. noticed there is a drilling at 10 rounds?

Complaints should have cleaned it before firing, found a pile of sand?? Throughout the gun on tear down.. May as well have shot it oily in a dust storm.. also most of the screws had to be tightened, lost one of the lower body screws at the range..however snugged everything up, refraining from locktight for now, will see how the next 200 rounds go. As far as accuracy no complaints at 25 yards. Definitely has some weight to it and a fair bit of recoil!

Trigger out of the box is crap.
Still don’t regret the purchase but then again have a soft spot for axis weapons even if they are replicas. Or ww2 guns in general..

Are these as crappily made as all the other GSG stuff?

No, not really. I fired one with live and than blanks with BFA, functions just fine, needs a lot of work to look like real MP40 though. Personally I wouldn't get it, too much work and only 5 round capacity even if blank rounds are used.

A legal question, if you manufacture a magazine to accept blank ammo only and unable to load ball ammo. Would it be legal to have a 30 rnd magazine

I don't think so. It's not a problem of the magazine. The gun must be designed as a blank gun (or more correctly a "signalling device") from square one. Such that it cannot shoot live ammunition. Usually the blank guns have out of axis barrels and special inserts in the barrels. Lot of parts are pot metal that would not withstand the pressure of live ammo.
Also, high capacity mags for blank guns are a grey area in Canada. I guess they would not be admitted to Canada even if they are correct blank guns.

nook123 If this was for me..if not sorry for the response.
So far i cut a piece of aluminum round stock and epoxied it in the aluminum trigger rod to take up the slack. smartened it right up. after being cleaned and components tightened Im excited to go and fire another few boxes through it, was surprisingly fun even with the 5 round mag, (suspect its pinned due to the non restricted long barrel version and my registration tag also calls it a "rifle"?)
failed to note after shooting it I also found that the retaining nut on the end of the barrel was loose allowing the barrel to float inside, expect the groupings to smarten right up, even though I cant complain with how it was shooting at 25yards before hand. the weight of it and feel with the recoil make it fun, even though it is a different gun than an original mp40 in internal design. finding the novelty to be near what my Mausers are regardless of legitimacy if that answers your question?
