Cadex shooter connects on 4400 yard target!

Eeeehhh....precision shooting alright! At 4 kilometre distance it is more of a guess work than anything.

According to this link, at 2000 yards it's dropping 200ft. At 4400 yards it wouldnt even be lethal any more.

The armchair "snipers" saying not much of an achievement is laughable. The longest recorded sniper kill is around 3500m this was 500 meters more, so what it took 16 tries? It's a testament to the rifle and the perseverance of the shooter. Congrats to him and to the quality of the system he used.

At 4400 yards a 400gr 375CT will still carry 850ft/lbs of energy. That is more than a 357 magnum handgun round at the muzzle. Still very lethal.

Just ran the quick numbers on a target at 4400 with my 375 CT. At that distance I need 133.4 Mils of elevation, at a 10 mph 3 oclock wind you would need to hold 4.3 mils. This is the intersting part:
Time of flight is 13.058 sec
Max Ordinance (the highest point the bullet reaches during the shot) 782.33 ft
over all drop works out to 1927.5ft

With how fast the winds change in a place like Kansis even geting impacts at that distance is a challange with the amount of flight time alone you are dealling with. At 16 rounds sent to get animpact is not bad at all. I believe the target was between 1 and 2 moa they are using, i will double check and let you know.

cheers
Ryan

love this Ryan, nice!

How did you arrive at that number?

As per the Applied Ballistics calculation a 400gr warner flatline bullet with a BC of 0.555 with a muzzle velocity of 2912fps, a DA of 4000 at 21 deg C will give you that energy. It will drop at lower altitudes and temperatures however it will still be a lot of energy. Under the right conditions, that round will stay supersonic to around 2100m.

I’ve burned up more rounds trying to get a hit at less than half of that on a 1.5 min sized target. That’s with a 6.5 Creedmoor granted, but still relevant. I can’t even imagine what a 3’or 4’ plate even looks like through optics at that distance!

So he would miss his target 15 times. You think it’s still standing there ? Those real records are KILL shots. Means they hit the target first shot, or first and second. To compare this #### to that is laughable.

1 shot 1 hit at even HALF that distance is infinitely more impressive than 15 misses.... a lot of you guys on here are just fangirling.
