I was just wondering what you need to do to if you own restricted firearms and you are a member of a shooting range and you plan to move (address change). What steps do I need to take?
No you'll have to call the Ontario CFO for that. Just ask the CFC person to put you through to the CFO.
Make sure you know exactly when you'll be moving the guns. They usually give you an ATT number over the phone or can fax you the form.
I did it almost 5 years ago... worked something like you call the CFC and give them an address change, the date the change will go into effect, then you need to get an ATT to move your restricted's from your current address to the new address on the date the change occurs.
It wasn't too much trouble, of course it'd be much nicer if everything (pistols and AR's) were non-restricted.
did it couple of weeks ago...call the CFO tell them you need short term ATT because you're moving and after tell them to update your long term ATT (they will mail it to you)...
One of the most frequent reasons that people's POL expire and can't be renewed is that they neglect to notify the CFC when they move. It is a question on the PAL test, surprising how many get it wrong.
Thank you to everyone for your help. Just some feedback now. I found that my call was put through right away if I called the 705, local number instead of the 1-800 number. The man I spoke to issued my temp ATT and also said he would update my club ATT. I've received in the mail my temp ATT. My question now is, will my club ATT be mailed to me or do I pick it up at my club? Thanks again.
