For the second day in a row the new Mossberg Patriot Revere barked and drew blood. Friday morning was my turn when I filled my antlerless mule deer draw tag and yesterday(saturday) afternoon was my gf's turn when she put a nice young whitetail buck down that made the grave error of stopping perfectly broadside 10 yards in front of the blind. He ran across the corner of the harvested oat field he stood in headed for the treeline he'd emerged from 100 yds away but only got about 80 yds before piling up and hitting the ground with two kicks before expiring. There was blood spray the entire way to where he fell. She had double lunged him beautifully. I was fortunate enough to capture(video) the whole scene as it unfolded on my iphone and when we pulled the trail camera down last night pics on it showed the deer walking into us(3 frames) and 1 pic of it running past after the shot. It was really cool to get all that of her very first deer harvest. She was quite pumped last night at home. Now she wants her own rifle and to hit the rifle range to gain some experience shooting at various ranges. I think I found a good one in this one, lol.
