Hi all. Anybody has experimented with different tork settings on their action screws? What should be the minimum setting?
Thx all.
Thx all.
I'd go 35 inch pounds on synthetic stocked units & 45-50 in. lbs on wood fitted ones. I generally have good results with these settings on bolt guns
that are decently bedded.
Adding a barrel pressure point has done wonders for accuracy in all my sporter barrel mausers.
For the first two rounds?
What material have you used to do that?
Wood, epoxy, tape, cut up credit cards, cork drawer liner. Anything that will give the barrel at least 4lbs upward pressure when assembled.
And where under the barrel do you apply that pressure point? Near the chamber, middle or at the end?
2-3 inches back from the end of the forestock.
2-3 inches back from the end of the forestock.
Getting them bedded and free floated help alot in the accuracy department. My groups went from 1"-1.5" factory to 1/2"-3/4" gunsmith bedded. I tighten the bolts by hand pretty snug and havent had issues.
