Stag-10 slings?

I have or have tried the following

Ferro concepts slingster
BFG vikcers
BFG vickers padded
Magpul MS2
Magpul MS3
Magpul MS4
savy sniper (I had 3 of them, didn't like the bungee one)
troy single point
and some other

The best by far is the Ferro concepts slingster. A distant second is the Savy sniper.

I’ve tried many different slings too and I’ve settled on the VTAC. I prefer this over Magpul, BFG, Slingster, etc.

For me the ability to snug my gun up to my back or chest super tight is critical. Nothing I’ve tried is as easy to snug up super tight for hands free carry when needed.

Mileageman pointed me to the Ferro Concepts Slingster, and it’s the best sling over ever used.

Magnum M-LOK QD mount on the rail at the front, and Magpul QD swivels on each end of the sling.

I have carried my Stag 10 over 40km of walking and hunting now and it is just so comfy. Also being with the way it still when slung, I can have the rifle at the ready in less than a second if something steps out

I have read some reports that the Slingster's metal adjustment clamp can beat the crap out of your rifle in certain conditions. Can anyone confirm before I buy one? Some went back to the Magpul as it apparently uses polymer which doesn't do damage.

It definitely scratches up your rifle and optics but I don't really care if I scratch up my guns through use.

I use my firearms as well but, no need to beat the snot out of a brand new $5000 rifle if I can help it right. Especially since this slings main function for me is heavy use while hunting.

I am going to have to rethink my choice in slings now. Suggestions for a runner up to the Slingster that is more forgiving to my rifle while trudging through the bush yet still comfortable on long hunts and easy to adjust?

My scratches are caused from courses where you're transitioning from rifle to pistol and other movements. Don't know if you'll encounter the same issues while hunting as you should have both hands on the rifle anyways.

Been using a Slingster for quite a while now and I'm trying to get the metal ajuster clamp to be in contact with my guns... Not working even at the tightest setting. My HK clip definitly chipping at my ghetto spray can paint job though but there is no way the metal ajuster clamp is able to scratch the finish when used.

I will tell you why I moved away from Magpul slings:

One day, a paraclip decided to let go my C8 while doing a transition drill. Sling was a genuine Magpul sling and paraclip was locked, using a genuine magpul rail sling attachment. The other paraclip was also locked and had some play in the "jaw" part. Magpul makes great products, but FerroConcept make a great sling.

I shoot 3-gun and duty rifle as well so, this sling may serve that duty too one day(undecided).

It's main use will be hunting though which includes everything from beating brush through alder to sitting on stand to getting in and out of vehicles and tree stands. Rifle probably spends an equal amount of time slung vs in my hands.

Thank you for the info sir. I plan to run these on whatever sling I buy...

Are you running single or two point?

I run 2 points. 1 point have very limited real life use outside a flat range setup. For hunting purposes, 2 points is the way to go to carry or sling it.

I have no experience with QD mount/socket.

I either run HK hooks or mount the sling directly to a rifle (no attachements) if its going to be used for a while (deployement) or if the rifle gets its own sling.

Yes, I definitely plan to run 2 point. I was just asking to try and determine why you saw less wear then Sinasta. I have a feeling with my uses it wouldn't be a huge issue but, I am still not very keen on having that large metal buckle swinging around risking damage. I also don't think I really need the quick adjustment. I am really not sure though as I am new to these types of slings and hunting with a black rifle. Up until now I have been running this sling on my bolt guns for hunting...

I own 14 rifles and 3 shotguns and every one has a butler creek comfort stretch sling on em. I sling my rifles all day long on my quad and snowmobile and comfort is everything with a 10lb rifle on your back so a good wide padded sling is a must. If your going to sling your rifle for any length of time don't go with a "tacticool" sling your shoulder will regret it.

Ferro Concept Slingster

Best sling I ever used. Simple, very efficient and tough !

Dont get this, will scratch the #### out of your gun if you care about that. Get the esd sling wont have this problem, recommended by ronin tactics/sf green beret

Not only that the metal will make a noise, not tactical at all

I just ordered the Persec DAR sling since I was looking at their belts but ended up with a Pekan belt and sleeve.
Seems like a Slingster without the padding and cost.
$35 and its Canadian.

I'll try to update after I recieve it and play with it.
I found the Magpul padded MS3 to be too long on the padded side where I have to reduce the adjustable portion so much that its barely adjustable and still too loose for my liking.
The padding is nice but limits the sizing and adjustability

EDS Slings has a great reputation, however, the company is currently struggling with inventory and customer service.
People are reporting long order times and little communication. Google Edgar Sherman design.
Likely just a small company with a product that has become one of the must-have items.
Hopefully, they will quickly work through their issues.

BTW Tu Lam of Ronin Tactics Inc is a fantastic source of solid information.
