Amazing Experience While Deer Hunting This Morning

The last day I went out with a friend who was up for the weekend we were sitting in my truck glassing a big open cut block and a perfect young 3 pt bull moose strolled right behind the truck LOL Mere feet away and no tag.
it's all lottery tags in my region so just had to chuckle and watch him walk away.
Never happens when I have a tag LOL

Same here, seen not one but TWO 50"+ bull moose so far this season while out hunting whitetail. One I walked up on in the fog, was 50 yards from me broadside standing...for what was probably at least two minutes. I "killed" him about 47 times. The other one was a couple days later, I saw him running from about 600 yards away into a bush running towards me. He popped out of the bush about 120 yards from me and stopped....broadside...I "killed" him only maybe 25 times, hehe. Still super nice to see though!

After ten years of encouragement by a friend to apply for a LEH for Roosevelt elk the final push came when a 5 x 5 near Nanaimo came within 13 paces.
In 1986 I had the LEH and collected a 6 x 6 (534 pounds to the butcher). Applied again the next year and got a 5 x 5.

Usually when the ears go back a moose is coming for you/threat display with bison the tail comes straight up.

Yes when I saw her lay those ears back I thought to myself "ok how do I get out of here if she comes at me, there is no time to zip the door open and crawl through it and the blind is staked down"....."I guess worst case scenario the 270 is going to bark". I watched her close and didn't make any sudden moves. I just remained still and kept shooting video and pics. She never raised her hackles and she seemed to relax again in a few seconds.

Don't kid yourself, cow moose can and will kill you.

Grizz
Who's kidding? A guy in my dad's hunt camp as a green/ teen hunter shot a cow moose with a .32 Win Special.Down she goes ,up he runs between the front legs to claim his prize. He came to several minutes later with a nice a broken sternum having great difficulty breathing. The cow had given him a boot, walked 30 feet and died.Lucky for him she didn't do the hokey pokey on him or he'd be dead as well.Chest wired together at a hospital ,later turned into a nice black hoof print bruise.
