.35 remington tell me what you can.

I have a beauty 760 in 35 rem. Knocks down jumpers and elk with no problem at all. Very nice cartridge to reload.
I doubt that you would regret getting yourself a 35 rem.

Find an older one with Ballard rifling and no extra lawyer proof side safety.

70's vintage are my favourite era of the 336's. Pre safety and a smooth wood to receiver finish.

Beauty! Details on the build?

Cheers

Savage model 11 stainless action, PT&G PPC boltface, Shillen prefit varmint contour 20 inch barrel bedded in a Boyds prairie hunter camo stock, the only modification I had to make was bending the feed lips in a hair on the magazine to told the slightly smaller diameter cases,

The .35 Remington has long since been nicknamed the smaller 45-70 because it is just as versatile, load it down to 900 fps for plinking or crank it to 2100 for thumping......if Marlin were to make a 1895 SBL in .35 remington I'd be all over it.......

I like it, it is light, shoots good with factory ammo, better with reloads. It is a package gun so the scope could be replaced with something better, but for a 100 - 150 yard gun I just leave it on. It might kick a little harder with more powder in the Whelen.

I have a 35 in a pre-model 8 made in 1906. Shot a large black bear this spring with it at about 18 yards. Used Remington 200 gr Core lokt, and bullet performance was text book perfect. Quartering shot that stopped in the shoulder, bear went 20 yards. My largest bear to date, scored just shy of 19”

A great cartridge

My 35 Remington is a 21" high lustre blued T/C Custom Shop Contender barrel .

I have it mounted on my only non restricted blued Comtender action with factory black Rynite stocks.

I load it with 180gr spitzers - 200gr FTX - 231gr gas gas check bulllets

It is my wife's favorite Contender carbine combo

IIt is one of 3 of my Contender combos that I have not shot anything with yet

Plan on fixing that next year
