PAL Wait Time

Hey everyone,

Here are my dates (I'm based in Laval, QC)

Sent: Oct 9th
Received: Oct 11th
Charged and online status available: Nov 4th

Called on November 18th to enquire about the status. Was told that the RCMP did its part and it was now in the hands of the Québec CFO.

45 days mark is today. Hoping it won't be too long now.

If some of you are based in Québec and have submitted in the same period, please let me know if you've already received it :)

Thanks!

Hey man i m in quebec also mine was recieved the 9 th of october and it showed up online arround the 30 th st and the license was issued the 21 st of november still havent received the card in the mail as of yet hope this helps .

Good thing I emailed then, because they wanted proof of status and residency as I moved to Canada in 2014.
Just replied back with the documents requested, hoping it won't be long now.

Wondering how long it would have taken if I hadn't been proactive...

Located in Alberta. PAL and RPAL application received Dec 18 2018. It's been 344 days with no word. There was no issues with my application

I’m at 360 days, applied Dec 6 last year. Went to my MP’s office the other day to see what they can do, probably won’t help though. I love how on the phone when I call to inquire about the delay they say “just keep your guns locked up, don’t worry about the expired license.” When I asked how I can transport them if I have to move “you can’t”.

I ticked a couple boxes and no one related to them has been contacted.

So I had sent an email yesterday regarding the status of my application to the CFO. I got a reply stating that they don't need any additional information and it is with a range officer for final review.

A few minutes ago, I logged into the RCMP website to check my status and I get this message:

Error#1: We do not have any information that matches this data. If the data is correct please check your application status again at a later date.

I just hope I didn't piss anyone off by calling the CFO often and by sending that email! Does anyone have any clue why it shows that? I was able to check my status until yesterday.

When was the application received?

Did you check any boxes?

In my experience that is just a generic message when you didn’t enter your information correctly. I have had my PAL now for a few months and I can still check my application status.

So I just got an email from a firearms officer stating that my application was approved and I should get it by mail within two weeks.
But I'm still unable to see my application on the website. I have retried several times with the same details. I guess I'll just wait till I receive it. Hope I get it soon by mail.

They received mine on October 31st and showed up online on November 25th. There was box for "newcomers" to check on if you're in Canada for less than 5 years. I moved to Canada in 2012. You didn't know they were requiring proof of residency from you until you emailed them, who knows when and if they would be contacting you to inquire about such documents.

Should I email them copy of my PR and passport regardless, in case they will require and I don't know yet? Or this is something they only ask if you're in the country for less than 5 years?

I'm in Ontario

I'm from Ontario too and I came to Canada more than a year ago. I didn't submit any proof of residence.
