I prefer an 8x myself. But I live on the west coast and hunt forest. The 8x are still over $500

But the 10x are on for insanely cheap! These are the equivalent to $700 Vortex Binos... or better!

If you're looking at getting new 10x binos, this is 100% your best bet. Just look up Athlon Ares compared to anything else.

I got the Cronus 10x42 binos last year for $400 and they are unbelievable for the price. I’d say they beat the viper HD easy. Keep an eye out for these as well.
