Which company were these branded for? Before I am told to google, I did. All I get is stuff that doesn't help.

I'm sure someone on here can tell me.

Thanks in advance. :)

I know that MacCleods hardware stores used the Hiawatha brand name for the .22s and shotguns sourced from Cooey. Not sure if others used that name as well. I thought it was a "house" name/brand. Were MacCleods owned by Marshell Wells Co. ?....Catnip

I'm not sure if Hiawatha shotguns were MacLeod's or not. I bought a new bike with my paper money from MacLeod's. It was branded Hiawatha.

There is a Hiawatha shotgun made by Savage Stevens, but the one I have is a Cooey 84.

Now that you mention the bike, I remember having one of them as well. Also had a single shot 12 ga. at one time, Hiawatha name on it, but for sure a Cooey 84.

According to the Belton Book on Cooey Firearms - Sure Shot was used on guns made for Robert Simpson Ltd., which later merged with Sears to become Simpson Sears.

Great! I am redoing my inventory and want to add the heritage to the info. Thanks everyone for the info!
