I searched but couldn’t find any other threads on this here...
Now here’s a rifle I actually wish I hadn’t purchased. It was a great deal I got during the demise of Wholesale Sports, but in hindsight I should have gotten the regular 10/22 because there’s more parts available for it. I also made a bad call in purchasing the Magpul backpacker stock instead of the Hunter stock; for whatever reason they decided not to put a sling stud or M-lok in the barrel section of the fore grip on the Backpacker (well, probably because it would no longer latch in to the butt if there was something mounted on the fore grip!)
So with that said, should I pursue trying to mount a bipod on this thing, should I swap the stock, or should I just get another 10/22 and build that out? I currently have a Nikon scope and no other mods so to make the takedown lighter I could lose that in favour of a red dot or adjustable iron sights, and move the scope to a more robust build with bipod for stability. I really like the 10/22 platform!
