hi im building a 7mm rem mag with a 24" barrel and ive been doing a ton of reading but keep coming up with conflicting results. Ive heard so many different accounts about RL22, Rl25, Rl26, H1000, IMR7828, etc. that im just really not sure what to choose. i plan on running 168gr barnes lrx 7mm for my bullet of choice but im wondering if any of you that have more experience reloading magnum calibers can give me a bit more direction. the climate i shoot in can be 40 degrees C in the summer and -25 in the winter so temp sensitivity is also a concern.

I had good results with H-1000 with 160gr and + bullets. I also had good accuracy with RL22, but kept using H-1000 for hunting because of temp stability.
 
Retumbo is the best choice for bullets from 160 grain up.
Reloder 26 is another very good powder for the heavier bullets.
Lately, I have been experimenting with Vihtavuori N570, but
have not completed tests with it yet. Dave.
 
I my own experience, rifles are much more sensitive to bullet weight/type than powder. If your rifle doesnt like the 168 gr Barnes, then there will be a limit to what accuracy can be achieved regardless of powder. Conversely, if a given rifle likes a particular bullet, it will show promise right out of the gate. I've proved this many times over the last 20 years of fiddling with centrefire rifles.
 
You might have bigger problems than powder choice. What is your twist rate? 168 LRX is known to not stabilize in a 9.25 twist
 
Buy a Barnes reloading manual and pick up the powder thar give the max velocity for the bullet you use. You will probably 2-3 or more that does that. Start low and build up your load toward the max until you find the best accuracy versus velocity. Thats how it’s done - not with Internet data from everybody.
 
Sorry that was one of the things I forgot to mention in my original post. I'm running a 9 to 1 twist. I've read a bit about the Barnes lrx not being the most stable with a 9 rate of twist. I would really like to run monolithic All Copper style bullets. If not be Barnes lrx then what are some other recommendations?
 
The other thing I was wondering is with people saying that 168 grain don't like the nine rate of twist are they doing the 0.050 that Barnes recommends off the lans or are they missing that step?

139 or 145 LRX. Take your pick!! I've had great results with RL22 and IMR4831 (both temp reactive unfortunately...).
 
There’s 4 or 5 proven powders for every cartridge. All can generally be made to shoot. Pick one and develop a load. I buy based on price and availability. I got 10 pounds of rl22 back when I was reloading 7mm rem mag for $25lb. It worked for me. I wasn’t about to pay $50 a pound to try the other 4 suitable powders.
 
I successfully used US869 in my 300 Win Mag and 300 RUM set up. Slightly heavier bullets than the 7mm Rem Mag but the chronograph showed little difference in speed between H1000 and US869 once I worked up a load. I used CCI Magnum Rifle Primers in both.
