Savage Axis II BLK

I see the normal Savage hate reared its ugly head

The 'sloppy bolt' isn't a fault its a feature it allows the bolt face to lock up with out binding the bolt into the action

The Axis ain't pretty but it is cheap, tough and accurate and as some one else said you don't mind beating them up a little

Yep, my only complaint is the stock which is easily fixed and the small ejection port, which I haven't been able to rectify.

Precisely.

I've had several rifles ( mostly chambered in .308Win...go figure). Just about all of them became safe queens, and the one that gets taken out the most is my Gen I Axis in stainless.

It's the low budget, get it done rifle that I don't give a damn about finish, and can use as a boat paddle in a pinch...and drives tacks all day long.
