does anyone have any experience waiting for a Baker rifle from the rifle shoppe? either the kit or complete rifle. or any other kit/complete gun for that matter

ive heard stories ranging from 6 months to 4 years, but most of those accounts are from years ago, i cant seem to find anything more recent, just curious what to expect, i emailed them but received no answer, im guessing its a common question that they are tired of answering

It depends if they have the kit in stock or not.If it is in stock they will ship right away if not it could take a few years or so or longer. The baker kit is popular so there is a good chance it may be in stock, but sometime the stickler can be if you want a completed lock or not which might slow down delivery .Also these are not kits for beginners especially if you get one without a completed lock, they are more parts sets instead of kits per say.

That was not my experience. In my case, the part was said to be in stock and supposedly sitting on their representative's desk. My calls were spaced about a week or more apart, and each time I called, was told they had the part in hand, sitting in front of them, on their desk or some such and would promptly ship it. It took a fair number of weeks to get the part actually shipped.

thanks for all the replies guys! seems like id be in for a wait but the quality is hard to beat, every other baker i have found has been smooth bore copies

The Rifle Shoppe weapons show up on Track of the Wolf from time to time.

They are expensive but usually quicker that waiting for results from the Rifle Shoppe.

The last Baker rifle was around $4,000.00

Here in UK Peter Dyson makes a selection of different Baker rifles. Waiting time, in the experience of one owner in our gun club, hovered around five years, and at that time, cost was prodigious, at something like £4500 in 2009. It's nice to shoot as you can see in the tac's guns baker rifle clip, but repeatable accuracy has so far eluded the owner, who is sadly no longer in a position to shoot it.

i will look into the Dyson rifles for sure. im amazed there are not more people making Baker rifles, they are a wonderful piece of history but the only guns i can find are from the rifle shoppe, the Indian made/Indian kit smoothbores, and now the ones from Mr. Dyson
