Where is this headed?

Wolverine Guns and Tackle

CGN Ultra frequent flyer
After watching the video I assume that they will be coming out with a law where we are forced to sell/turn over some of our firearms. How do we fight this? Even if you don't own a firearm being taken you should consider that this affects you. If they are allowed to pass this they will eventually come for other types of firearms. It reminds me of the old adage - they didn't come for me at first......
The question is - where do we start?

Liberal/NDP coalition; the worst thing to happen to our country.

Is there any way we could challenge this law and wrap it in red tape so it doesn't become applicable? Or are we not as free as our neighbors in the States?

Where we start is the million dollar question. Can the orgs finally work together or is this still not enough damage to motivate them? Is there legal recourse? Someone mentioned we should all file for a reference hearing under section 74 of the Firearms Act.

I fear if we fail to get it together this time, they will continue to pick us apart and each time it will get easier.

Definitely require a lawyer.

74 (1) Subject to subsection (2), where

(a) a chief firearms officer or the Registrar refuses to issue or revokes a licence, registration certificate, authorization to transport, authorization to export or authorization to import,

(b) a chief firearms officer decides under section 67 that a firearm possessed by an individual who holds a licence is not being used for a purpose described in section 28, or

(c) a provincial minister refuses to approve or revokes the approval of a shooting club or shooting range for the purposes of this Act,

the applicant for or holder of the licence, registration certificate, authorization or approval may refer the matter to a provincial court judge in the territorial division in which the applicant or holder resides.

Marginal note:Limitation period

(2) An applicant or holder may only refer a matter to a provincial court judge under subsection (1) within thirty days after receiving notice of the decision of the chief firearms officer, Registrar or provincial minister under section 29, 67 or 72 or within such further time as is allowed by a provincial court judge, whether before or after the expiration of those thirty days.

Wolverine, I would like to ask you the same, what are you prepared to do as a business and owner when it comes down it !?
Also what are all businesses and owners across Canada preparing for what’s approaching to the matter !?
Thanks

Not to be the depressing type but I wouldn't think any of those clauses would apply. An OIC is not a CFO or registrar making a decision or refusal, and (C) is totally irrelevant. Having said that, I'm not a lawyer and hope I'm wrong.

We are discussing options. That is why I started this thread. Whatever we do it needs to be done by thousands of people - not one business, or Canadian, acting alone, will have any success.

CSSA, CCFR, NFA, OFAH should all band together, independent organizations under 1 umbrella

Absolutely. I'm tired of forking out cash to the CSSA, CCFR, and the NFA. As my memberships expire, I WON'T be renewing. ONE ORG OR NOTHING! I've read and heard all the arguments for 3 orgs but nothing positive has come out having 3 orgs. Look where we are now and there's no end in sight to gun confiscation.

I believe a good leadership is a must to unite and motivate us all to make a solid stand to what’s right and ours !
To gain the attention of all Canada and the world !
Leadership Leadership Leadership.
Who would lead......?

Billy boy clearly said they would prohibit military style weapons by order in council. I have some very bad news for you if you think you can challenge this in court. You can not. Orders in council can not be challenged in any court. They are a throwback to the time of the divine right of kings to rule the peasants. The firearms act clearly gives the power to prohibit firearms, devices etc. to the governor in council. (Julie) So whether you like it or not their intent is to shove this down our throats while totally avoiding any tie ups in parliament or the courts. He also said military style weapons not just rifles. This opens up the real possibility that all those nice semi-auto shotguns used in 3 gun competitions will be gone along with a bunch of other firearms. If they follow the NZ example they will also ban ownership of any significant part of a banned firearm.

There's no end to the gun bans and confiscations. Canada is broken.

I hate all of this crap. We all need to stand together and fight it. I just dont know how. Theres so many lazy gun owners that seem like they just dont care then the other half that just dont know whats going on. I hope were not doomed.

Right you are Ralph. However peasents like us also took pitchforks and torches to the castles of our lords who overstepped their uselessness.

I remember my son playing Civilization years ago. I watched over his shoulder for a while and I finally asked, "what is happening in your game"? He answered I am fleeing civil disorder. I did not build enough granaries and the peasants are hungry and angry. The peasants in the game were indeed brandishing pitchforks, torches, etc. Life is not a game.

What if we all just said "No. We are not the problem."

Would they arrest us all?

Not everyone, but think about how many lives were ruined through people not complying with the prohibition on Marijuana. Even a short jail sentence and confiscation was just the tip of the iceberg of punishment, because once you have a criminal record, good luck in finding gainful employment. There is no true liberty in democracy. Without a solid foundation based on individual freedom, then we are victims to whatever narrative that the masses believe. It doesn’t matter that “we are not the problem” all that matters is how people feel about it and with the media largely at the reigns of public opinion, any true pushback is just framed as extremism.

Don’t take that as me saying that everyone HAS to comply because everyone will make their own choices, but once this is pushed through, open discussion about anything other than 100% compliance will just put a target on your back from our “great rulers.”

You're probably right. Most folks I know are pretty apathetic. I don't imagine getting lots of support for any civil disobedience.
