My first Handgun **PICS**

As far as I know that is not legal. If you keep ammo with any firearms you can be held liable. Ammo must not be accessible to load.

You cannot store a loaded gun. But there's nothing illegal about storing ammo with the gun.

If it's in a "safe" then you're good to keep loaded mags along side the gun. A loaded mag is not a loaded gun. There is some confusion as to what constitutes a safe, as there is no legal definition, but if the container was bought as a gun safe, or gun locker it shouldn't cause any problems.Let's not make things worse than they need to be.

Congratulations on a terrific purchase, that is a beautiful peice of equipment and should last you many years. Also Kudos on buying a 1911, it's where serious pistol shooters tend to end up anyway, so you've got a head start.

would any damage be done by storing it cocked? A lot of people i know store them cocked. right now mine is now stored with the hammer down, and a loaded mag sitting beside it. (stored in a safe)

What difference does it make if the hammer is up or down? You're still gonna have to rack the slide if you wanna chamber a round.

I store my 1911s decocked and unloaded.

Here's my first 1911, a quality Nork NP30. I'm well pleased.

It's nice to see there are some 16 year old Canadians who have a good start on growing into being MEN. God save save us from sensitive, new age "guys"
