I have a t3x 6.5 x 55, all OEM. I'm picking up a grs stock and would like to swap out the barrel with a medium weight fluted 26", accuracy is of the utmost importance.

Can someone suggest some options please? I'm outside of toronto but will ship my action off to another province if necessary.

Thanks.

I believe there are many smiths who can do that for you...they would need to have a good 6.5x55 reamer ... Simply supply them with a quality barrel fluted from the factory and let them thread, chamber, crown and install. Jerry can supply a barrel and Big Horn Sales in Houston, BC also has excellent barrels. (Benchmark Barrels)

Have a look at IBI barrels (Chilliwack, B.C.).............they are having great success in many different types of competition (F-Class/PRS/Rimfire/VRS).

Jerry/Mystic can also hook you up with a IBI barrel.

I am very happy with my IBI barrel and I shoot with a LOT of shooters who use IBI pipes. ;)

That being said, you can't really go wrong with any of the top brands on the market today.

Ask bighorn sales about Tikka prefit barrels and buy an action wrench and a barrel vice, why limit yourself to just one barrel??

I'll put a shout out here for EM Precision out of Spruce Grove Alberta. Steve does top notch work and I'm pretty sure he is familiar with that lovely Tikka action.

Last I checked jerry isn’t a gunsmith, get a quality barrel from a reputable supplier and pick a gunsmith, gun tech does good work and benchmark makes great barrels.

Jerry is a reputable supplier - IBI and other quality barrels.

Seeing how you are in Ontario, Jason Spencer in Ottawa should have no problem doing the job the job for you.

Gentlemen,

1st off, thanks for the suggestions. I think I'm deciding between IBI, Jury and if I feel like splurging a Bartlein.

I reached out to a local gunsmith for putting this new barrel on for me and was given the below pricing, I was expecting a lot less but never having done this before I don't really know.

Do these prices look reasonable to you guys? I mentioned I was getting a barrel elsewhere but he quoted 1 for me anyways...

1. Stainless Steel match grade Krieger barrel: $600.00
2. Chamber, thread, bead blast, install barrel: $500.00
3. True action and bolt: $500.00

Thanks

Jeff

Contac Guntec Mr Sorenson he is guy you want use, he is Top notch

The Kreiger price is pretty much where it should be. The smith work seems a touch high everything but the bead blast would normally be $350 or so. Truing the action, not many guys tooled up to do Tikka so you might just have to pay it if you want it done.
I think Guntech only trues Remington.
