Bought this a few years back for duck and goose hunting. Freaking love this shotgun. 2-3/4, 3-1/2 it doesnt matter cuz its a pump and will shoot anything I want to put in it for my bird hunting!

I have a 535 ats. Never let me down yet. Its done up with ati adjustible m4 carbine stock and anti jam foreend with a 4x32 redfield scope. Great turkey gun

I have the 3 barrel combo version of the 535...its a great shotgun. I have used it for trap and have taken it to the hunt camp but never used it there yet as I was too focused on deer etc...

It shoots well and I can keep up with the guys with their Blazers at the club with it... I kind of enjoy that. My only issue I have had with it is that after a few hundred rounds the screws seem to loosen up...I couldn't figure out why after multiple trap games this shotgun began to slap me in the face with each shot...turned out the bolt in the stock worked its way loose and I had to take off the butt pad and tighten it up. Used some lock tight, hopefully that was the last time. Its a keeper cheap shotgun that I don't mind getting wet or banging around. Can keep my nice shotguns for the nicer days or when I feel like using a different action.

For a good price I highly recommend this shotgun, its pretty much a do everything reasonable well tool.

The older models were better designed with the foreend tube and nut assembly. The new versions have the control arms staked in the plastic and they break easily. My 3 barrel combo is that way. My ats has the tube and its a much stronger design. Also easy to swap fore ends

Funny how we are all different
I bought a 3 barrel set new when they came out and hated it to the point I sold it after maybe 25 rounds
Dam thing was so lose and sloppy and I could not get the fore end from rattling all the time. Then again maybe I am wingmaster spoiled :)
Just my 2 cents
Cheers

Imagine if you only had a 3 barrel model 12 set how much better it would be over one of them circus ringmasters. :p

Best pump shotgun I've ever owned or used. Never jams. Utterly reliable and all the features I wan't in a 3-1/2" 12ga. Paid $401 shipped to my door from SIR years ago and immediately sold the slug barrel for $100. So for $301 I got a 3-1/2" pump 12ga with a 28" vent rib barrel, three chokes and a gun lock. It's still my go-to duck gun.

The issue was the screw in the butt ….. yes hahaha

Anyway in the butt stock under the rubber padd is a long bolt that holds the butt stock on and allows you to take off the buttstock. Anyway tighten that up and the sloppiness goes away. I have put at least 300 rounds of birdshot through mine for trap and after the first 25 rounds the choke came loose, didn't know went form hitting 20 birds first game to maybe 12 for another 50 clays (tightened it) then 250 rounds in the gun starks smacking my cheek. Found it to be loose in the action and stock where it was all tight before...So tightened up the large scree and all it good again. When its working right it shoots as well as my browning. Ya just have to check she's good and tight before you get on shooting.

I find a good thick grease on the choke tube threads keep them from moving.
Also don't overlook the cheap Turkish shotties when looking for a 3.5", they are surprisingly well made. The action bars on the pump are miles ahead of Remmy's (and I love my 870's, but braised stamped steel baction bars are sad by comparison) and Mossy's, big milled alloy piece with the cam integral to it, chromed bores, very durable guns.

Has anyone had jamming issues or shells falling out? I watched a video today and the guy had jamming issues with 3.5 in rds. He had to replace a spring in the block that was too strong causing misfires. Because of this I didn't recommend buying it to my niece's beau. He just passed his PAL and hunting courses and is looking for a 12 ga as his first purchase.

Most jamming issues are user error. Properly bent mag release and stop bars and full rear ward pumping they function fine. The replaceable ejector is an added plus. Remington 870s need a trip to a smith to be fixed. Mossbergs just unscrew and replace
I wouldnt reccommend a 3.5" gun to a newbie. It wont add any benefit. A regular 3" 500 will do everything with less chance of causing a flinch
