Growing support for the Tikka T3 platform. wrt to prefit barrels, both shouldered headspace and barrel nut options are possible.

CM, SS and CF wrapped are possible.

Every possible spec you can dream up in chambering, twist, contours, lengths, features are now possible.

Whether you prefer a barrel blank and gunsmith install or do it yourself, something to cover all needs.

I would recommend Gary at Big Horn, he has the largest inventory of Benchmark barrels north of the border and they are excellent barrels to work with. He is honest and will tell you straight up what he can supply and give you the best prices available.

I would also recommend to NOT pay anybody to "true up" the Tikka action, I have had several Tikka rifles customized with new barrels and never had to have the action worked on, they are fantastic as they come from the factory.
 
Communicated with Bighorn to get some more info if Benchmark offered shouldered prefit. Just to quote "Benchmark does not do too many Prefits unless they are barrel nut type , there are too many variables , we still like to see a gunsmith fit chambering to get best results.". Going to check on other companies for shouldered prefit.

Further update inquired with IBI and I quote "We don't do shouldered prefits for most factory rifles simply due to bad tolerances. We can shoulder one up no problem BUT we need the action to make it perfect."

So it seems like shoulder prefit are not recommend by IBI either, and if you want a shoulder barrel you'll have to send your action in. I was quoted about $760 for barrel and fit for the Tikka T3. So unless you're getting some preferential treatment for shouldered prefit the answer I've gotten is IBI and benchmark do not do shouldered prefit, but will provide the service if you provide the action on-hand to which is no difference than sending it to a gunsmith. Barrel nut prefit are possible.

There's lots of gunsmiths in the US that will do it. They've had their hands on enough actions that they're confident the tolerances are tight. Proof is of the same opinion.

Lots of actions these days held to tight enough tolerances that shouldered prefits are offered by a plethora of gunsmiths without seeing the action. Bighorn, Defiance, Kelblys, Impact, ARC, Lone Peak, etc. all guarantee the headspace on their actions to very tight tolerances. It's nothing new. Kelbly and their associated gunsmiths have been providing shouldered prefits for their actions since ~1996.

Perhaps IBI and Benchmark just aren't comfortable making shouldered prefits. I wouldn't read into that too much, as many others do, and very successfully.
