38 Special Charge

You must have more knowledge on this subject than Campro and Hogdon.

Nope. That is not what I wrote, is it? I do, however, shoot Campro bullets out of my 3 .38's and .357's and use HP 38 as well. I would not hesitate to load a Campro bullet on top of a minimum lead bullet charge. Especially if I found it to be accurate. Now, I will say that my 38/ 357's are all short barreled(2 - 4 inch) and maybe trying this out of a carbine could be troublesome. Are we good, Ryan?

" what would be the ideal charge for a 125gr CMJTCFP bullet with hp-38? "

The postings have supplied info on safe loads that will go bang and punch a hole in the paper.

The only way to find out what is 'ideal" for your pistol is load a survey of, say 20 rounds, in 0.3 gr increments from the Start load in the book to the Max.

Shoot well-aimed groups and note what load feels good, cycles the action and shoots a good group. That load will vary from gun to gun and can also vary a bit depending on how you hold a pistol.

One thing that should be said here is that every barrel/cylinder is different, and what works in mine might not in yours. I just would not like to see anyone get the wrong information from this site. If you choose to disregard the load data published by Hogdon, it's on you. Just trying to give good advice here, not to be argumentative.
