So i had a case neck seperation in my model 700 . 25-06 . Like an idiot i pryed up on the bolt and forced it open .
The case stayed in the bolt . then i pried out the case and it ripped the extractor claw off.. The gun looks perfectly fine. Bolt cycles and fires . but no extractor.
Do I need to send the gun out to a gunsmith ? Or can i order a new bolt face and tube and keep the back and the internals?
Chris.

You are probably not the first guy the gunsmith will have seen darken his doorstep. Man up, and get his professional opinion.

guntech did a bolt handle for me.
Dennis should be on the site shortly.
Shipping with CP should meet your needs.
Y may get away with shipping the barreled action or just the bolt.
Talk to guntech.

Yup, do a search for guntech. He lives on an Island as well. He will look at it and tell you whether or not it can be fixed. Might even modify the extractor to a SAKO type, if you ask nicely. Won't be cheap though.

I'll be back in January... I would never alter it to a Sako style extractor, the worst thing you can do to a 700 bolt!
