Well sunday night we are headed out for 2 weeks of moose hunting :D

never been moose hunting before but I wanted to try it. so I put in for a draw and wouldnt you know it got my Big Bull tag. Im going into 7-23 for those of you familiar with the area.

also gonna keep an eye out for black bears as well cause I still got my tag left over from the spring when i was skunked lol.

plus alittle grouse and rabbit hunting throwin in there as well.

should be alot of fun and hopefully I'll have lots of pics to show off when I get back.

What are you bringing as a moose gun????

Interesting, do other provinces permit tag carryover also?

it's not really carrying over.

In BC you purchase a "tag" for a specific species from a hunting shop, gas station, whatever. that tag is good for as long as the license is good (one year). it's just a sticker basically. so I can buy a bear tag in the spring and not use it till the fall. you can buy tags whenever you want and they are good till the folowing year I think it goes from May31-may31of the next year.
you dont buy tags for specific season or times, you just buy the tag and you have till the following year to fill it (in accordance with open and closed seasons of course).

make sense?

so were back. the weather was the ####s it rained just about every day for the week and half where we were out. we decided enough was enough and came back a couple days early. I ended up getting my Bull :), but nobody else got one or even seen anything other then one small cow on the drive home.

maybe im lucky I guess cause it's a fairly nice Bull for my first one. Im quite happy with him. it's a bit early still they arnt really into full rut yet, plus all the rain just made for some ####ty hunting. anywho after all's said and done it was still alot of fun even if the the hunting wasnt as stellar as it could have been.

Ok so here's the pics. (there's quite a few so be warned if you have dialup ;) )

ok so lets first start off the obligatory scenery and misc. pics.

Thanks guys.

alittle more info. first I shot em with an ole .303 with iron sights at about 70yrds.

the bull is a 6x6 with about a 43" spread. really long tines though as you can see. also the antlers are still pretty red like he hasnt been out of velvet very long witch I thought was odd given the time of year but who knows. he's also got alittle spike antler in the middle of his head. adds alittle character lol.

it was definatly a trip to rember thats for sure.
