Did you know that CZ557 .308 black edition was specifically created for Russian market, but somehow made its way to Canada

It has Russian Heraldic on the back of the grip hurrah! USSR heraldic would be even super cooler, but that's ok, anyhow Czech Slavic brothers made my day :) what else do you need for Christmas?

Just arrived and very happy with it: open sights (front sight is very nice), see through picatinny rail, rubberized stock
I am still trying to find a sweet spot on a trigger, which has three set screws: travel on fire, after fire and pull.. it came with a very short travel and extremely low weight on pull, so I cannot even feel it... hmm

Got mine six months ago - then never saw any more for sale-started to think it was a one of- I never noticed the herald until you pointed it out- very interesting
You will probably love the gun - shoots awesome - only issue I have is the weight of the firearm- it weighs more than my tikka varmint rifle

Well , it has open sights, this is exactly what I wanted in addition to scope, of course that adds weight. Russian hunters specifically like back up sights as optics may get disturbed or fogged. Also, I am wondering how hollow is the buttstock-I tried to find two holes to unscrew the rubber piece to investigate, but couldn't so far... have not shot it yet, will weight for the scope rings to come.
how accurate were open sights? thanks

Never tried the open sights - eyes getting too old - put a scope on it at the get go -did take a few boxes of hand loads to find the sweet spot - just like the cz455 22's it seems to need a bit of break in - unlike the tikka cf and rim fires that seem to shoot right out of the box
I suspect the stock is solid - it's the only way I can explain the weight

Where did you get it from? Have you found any spare magazines for it?

Does it have a set trigger? Looks like some of them may have it https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yCyBN1jkXis

it has three setting screws for the trigger: pull weight, pull distance, relax distance; I still have to play with it, I think it is a set trigger, but not sure
got it from G4C for 899$ before taxes/ shipping, they still have thos ein stock:
https://g4cgunstore.com/product/cz-557-american-synthetic-308win-24-brl/
got 4rnd mag from gotenda, it was the last one: https://www.gotenda.com/shop/accessories/magazines/cz-557-243308-4rd-magazine/
but they still have 10rnd, getting another mag is important because I've heard people complaining re: lost mags while hunting: https://www.gotenda.com/shop/accessories/magazines/cz-557-243308-10rd-magazine/
I know tundrasupply (Edmonton) has same rifle for 999 or so: https://www.tundrasupply.ca/cz-557-black-edition-308win.html
