Nice SP1 Clammy a classic and a wise decision for a first true Black Rifle.
You need the SP1, a helmet, and a flack jacket when you watch "Tour of Duty" "Platoon" and "We Were Soldiers".
I had quite a few 12 or 15 SP1's and 6 or 8 A2's models of rifles & carbines over the years the the SP1's wouldn't handle the SS109 ammo. I have lots of cans full of the SS109 and it would be a shame to shoot that ammo through a 1-12 barrel and not get any accuracy. Last year I had a chance to trade for an A2 with 1-7 and I like that A2's for that reason. I haven't shot it yet but I have to get out and do it.
I think I have had just about every kind of Colt made over the past 30 years and have gathered lots of parts. Especially the C-7 type.
I do need a rubber wedge to take up the slack between the upper and lower receiver. I would also like to get an SP1 complete upper to go with my A2 just for the look.
I had most of the black rifles at one time or another, had fun with them before I traded or sold them off. I prefer the AR's over the VZ-58's, Galil's, AR-180's, FNC's, Valmets, AK's, SKS's, H&K's, FN's, UZI's, Sterlings, and M14's.
