Typhoon F12 broken charging handle

Has anyone else had issues with the charging handle in their f12 snapping in 2 while firing? After about 500 rnds of a mixture of bird, buck and slugs, my charging handle snapped leaving half of it still in the bolt. There was still enough of a nub to grab it and yank it out with some needle nose pliers which I did and replaced it with the spare that was included with the firearm. I was happy and that was that. Today it happened again (roughly another 500 rnds later) but this time there is not enough of the broken charging handle left in the bolt to grab onto so I find myself in a bit of a pickle. Just wondering if anyone has any ideas of how to get it out but also is anyone aware of somewhere that sells replacement charging handles?
 
Looking at the owner's manual on the 'net, it looks as though the handle is tubular and transitions into a rectangular bar with a key on one side for the part that mates with the bolt. There doesn't appear to be anything retaining the charging handle in the bolt, except that the bolt has to be in a certain position for the charger handle to be removed. Since you've already replaced one, you can confirm if this is correct?

I'm guessing, but I suppose the entire tubular section broke off and you're faced with trying to get the rectangular part out, with little or nothing to grab hold of.

One approach (depending on your brazing skills) might be to weld a rod to the remaining bit with a brazing torch and pull it out that way. Another approach (if the remaining rectangular piece is sufficiently large) might be to drill and tap a small hole into the piece and then pull it out with a threaded bolt.

Hope this works out for you. Please post your results, so we get some feedback on what was successful.
 
The charge handles on the Derya shotguns along several other parts is MIM (metal injection molded) which is not at all as structural as a machined part. It seems that most of the Turkish made shotguns share this technology to a degree.
I had the charge handle on my MK12 break. O dell was pretty quick to replace it for me, but I had a custom charge handle made up from machined steel by ATRS so as to avoid this issue from ever happening again. I believe Tac Ord is making a steel charge handle for the Typhoons
I suspect that the charge handle on the Typhoon is held in place with a detent like the MK12 and even most semi auto Remingtons.
 
Mine is still pretty new but plan on replacing this part as soon as someone makes an aftermarket one. Heard a few people complain about this now, obviously a weak link on these firearms.

Yes you are correct, the brazing idea you mentioned will most likely be the way I remedy it thank you

Thank you for the reply. I just sent tactical ordnance an email to see if they have a steel one available since I can’t find one on their site but something tells me it’s the same as the Remington versa max, I’ll wait a couple of weeks to see what they say.
 
We now have the hardened stainless steel handles in stock at Tacord for both right and left sides (left will need to have the upper machined). I have broke two and bent one of the pot metal ones that come with it in the box. Replacing the factory one should be the first thing you do cause it's only a matter of time before it fails. Heck, I had a pot metal factory one break half way through one mag.

Perfect! I’m unable to find it on the tacord site but I sent an email and I’m sure they’ll give me the instructions on how to order it when they respond.

Is the Tacord the same attachment design as all the Turkish guns? I have a Derya Carina that has a sad looking MIM handle I always wanted to replace.

As Rifleman mentions in his posts, Casey and his son Peter are fixing the charging handle problems as we speak. I had mine break during the IPSC National shotgun match in London. Fortunately, father and son were able to drill out the soft original metal ant replace the charging handle. Never missed a stage! Great guys! If you're close by, I'm sure they could do the same for you. You can't go wrong by picking up their other upgrades either. Cheers.
