Anyone ever shimmed up a loose fore end on a MAS36?
From my research it seems to be a common problem and people talk about shimming but never include photos of what they did.

Anyone on here ever done that to their MAS? Or know if the fore end moving fore wards will effect accuracy at all or throw the point of aim off. Since it's not windage adjustable easily.

The part I need to shim I think is right in-front of that hook on that piece, to stop the stock from sliding forwards and pull it back tight into the original position. It comes forward about 2-3mm. Is that the issue you had on your MAS?
 
The issue with mine was that the whole upper and lower handguard would wobble slightly and the nose cap/sight protector was loose. By placing the shims under the hook it puts more pressure on the areas that need to contact the barrel. I believe the handguard is supposed to make contact at the hook and under the bottom side of the barrel band/sling attachment point. You can see the small metal pad inside the lower portion of the handguard there.

Mine is tight all round other then the fact it slides forwards and back. But no wiggle up down left or right so I don't know if the shim you made will help me. I'm going to give it a try and see what happens!

No harm in trying.

My rifle shoots about 11" to the right so I'm hoping this brings the POA and POI closer together. If after shimming it the 0.38 mm it moves the POI in the right direction, I might try shimming even more.
