Got My Black Rifle!

It looks simiilar to my T4 Miculek compensator, designed and used by Jerry Miculek. Here's a pic of one from the web, it's a fantastic unit, can't speak for the stag model though...

I fired the rifle tonight. The muzzlw brake works well. Hardly felt any recoil. I think I'll keep it!

This is how it looks now.

I added a Trijicon ACOG with a J-Point 8MOA reflex sight. I also mounted a Tango Down vertical grip on a bolt-on Picatinny rail.

I fired over a hundred rounds through it tonight. The muzzle brake worked well but the mag I got with it had some problems. It wouldn't feed the first round in very well and the bullet a few times was pushed into the casing. I attribute this to the fact that I was firing hollow tipped ammo and it kept getting hung up. The mag also had a tendency to not load the last round. For some reason the bolt catch would kick in and the action would be held to the rear. So I pushed on the bolt catch, chambered the last round, and continued firing. This would usually result in my last round being a little further outside the group.

The reflex sight was fun to shoot. Though I recommend to anyone who buys one to get a shim with it. I had run out of elevation while sighting it in and after I put the shim in everything was fine. If I had it to do again I would have gotten a 4MOA dot. Even though I have the 8MOA I was still able to shoot 1-1 1/2 inch groups with it at 25 m despite the fact it covered a third of the width of the target!

Hey, those are the EXACT problems I had with mine when I had it out last weekend. I also wasn't able to load a mag with the bolt closed at first, however, after a few rounds through it, I was able to push a mag in.

I attributed these problems to it being a brand new rifle and it just needed itself shook out. I'll be curious to see how these problems work out.

Glad you got the rifle! Those brakes are mandated for import, they work GREAT, but yup, they're LOUD! (FWIW, A2 FH are available)

With the mag, please try pushing the 5rnd lances in a bit further, that should do it, did it with all my mags too, but from an earlier shipment. If not, we'll swap it for you (which reminds me of another replacement mag I need to get out). Once the C-Products mags work, they work fine, if there's a problem, it'll be apparent right away, hopefully some work on the lances will do it.

Can't do anything until the 26th though. On the road with work at the moment.

I think with more shooting the problems will be sorted out. The rifle and mag need to be broken in. Plus I think if I switch to regular pointy-tipped ball ammo I won't have as many problems with the mag. I was using 45 grain Winchester hollow points at the range last night.

Yeah, at first I was a bit wary of the brake but now I really like it. Recoil was reduced noticeably so i won't bother investing in a rubber butt pad. And the rifle barely jumped at all. I could put consistent double taps on target with no problem. The noise wasn't as loud as I thought it would be either. I think I'll keep the brake.
