Given the increasing problems with sourcing a Trijicon ACOG here in Kanada, I started looking around at options.

I obviously found the Short Dot, and (wonder of wonders) did some cross-referencing between Wolverine's price list and Elcan's website.

I'm considering scope options for a future AR or potentially an AR180B build. (Maybe even an LMT MRP if I pinch my pennies)

While I want a rugged and reliable scope, I won't be subjecting it to Milspec abuse :runaway:

Does anyone have a Short Dot or Spectre DR? Care to share their opinions?

PS. What about the aimpoints and their 3X magnifiers? Anyone care to comment?

I've never owned a S&B, and my experience with the CF's Elcans (shortly after we switched to flat-top uppers) was mixed. What is the skinny on the reliablity/ruggedness of the current crop of Elcans and their mounts?

Also curious about the aimpoints with their 3X magnifiers. Any experiences to share?

turns out there are certain models of Trijicon that are end user and others that are not. I am buying a new TA31F the ecos and the TRD are both end user.

I was about to go with a DR but i just dont like the reticle.... from the photos i have seen either there are no hash marks for range, or they are very small... That was the deciding factor for me.

not sure which im going with, but i like the winged. they will both work with either the trijicon reddot, or the dr optic reddot equally well.
