The dude in the video can shoot.
Years ago, I used to shoot reactive steel rams out at 500 yards (older range) with my Shilo Sharps #3 Sporting rifle in .45-70. Longer ranges in this area are hard to find. Never a problem taking them down, if I did my part.
Yeah, finding ranges in Canada is a problem. At least here in the west. All of my long range shooting competition has been done in the states. Other than Ottawa I'm not sure where you can find a 1000 yard range with pits. We can shoot steel gongs to 800m in Heffley Creek, but it's just not the same as shooting targets on a range with a full set of wind flags.
Chris.
Lots of long ranges in Alberta and Saskatchewan...
Did you ever find the scene in question? Sounds very similar to the ending of one of the Clint Eastwood spaghetti westerns. This has always interested me.
I'm wondering if anyone here has ever see a western movie where at the very end the villain rides his horse about 1000 yards away and stops atop a hill on the horizon and looks back. It seems as though he has gotten away. The good guy dials up his ladder sight and fires, knocking the bad guy off his horse and that's how the movie ends. I wish I could find that scene again.
