Happy 2020! COLT PYTHON is BACK!

I might be tempted by a 4.25" version as well. Unlike the KC, at least Colt has kept true to the external design of the Python. No doubt these won't have the same level of human attention as the originals, but if they use simplified lock work and it is strengthen as they say, it might not be too bad.

Although the following video is for the S&W "Classic" line, it may also apply to the Colt line. I generally prefer "the old originals", but this fellow has some interesting points and observations about the improvements that are possible with modern manufacturing.

A concern is the manufacturing knowledge has disappeared. The old guys and gals who knew how to make the renowned slick Python action and buff that particular shade of "Python Blue" are all dead or retired. Perhaps if Colt announces who's in charge of production of the new Python line...

Agreed. If they’re coming out of the custom shop I suspect they’ll at least rival the old ones as the SAA’s of the past few years have been excellent. I’ve never been overly impressed by Pythons. Having to spend MR73 money on one made it a hard pass for me. I won’t be in a rush to get one of these either, but I hope it’s a success for Colt and prospective buyers.

Man NS makes me sick, I wish more dealers would start buying direct from manufactures. The end result pricing here in Canada makes a huge difference. NS seems to gouge the dealers that buy from them thus jacking up the prices. Makes me sick.

It's time to eliminate the middle man from the equation.

Relax, let's wait until we know the MSRP before freaking out.

The Colt SAA has a $1899 MSRP on the Colt website. NS list them at $2950 up here. $2500-$2700 should be the MSRP up here unless they have a huge markup because of the frenzy.

The King Cobra is $999 US and $1499 Can. That suggests to me that at $1499 US the Python in Canada could be $2249 or so. Maybe more initially. I guess we'll see soon enough
