MDI.

Newer ones are much more consistent and you have zero spare parts issues and way more "custom" options available.

Which ever one you find available first.

This one.

Having owned a Maccabee, I'd probably buy the XCR. Everything is god damn tight on the SLR from taking it down (I don't mind the bolt - I mind that I have to hammer the two halves apart with a mallet) to fitting the parts.

XCR is great rifle.
Maccabee will be more accurate if you get a good barrel.
Hard choices, I had both.if I buy it again probably XCR would be my choice. I just prefer XCR over AR platform.

My 2 cents, a Modern Sporter.

Barring that, a new generation XCR-L.
If shopping second hand, keep in mind there are big differences between generations of the XCR-L.
If it's got a quad rail, heavy barrel, and skeleton stock: leave it be, its not worth the risk.

I had one of the first XCR-L's, and from my experience I tend to believe everyone elses horror stories were true too.

Wow, thank you all for your answers! Im not trying to be a professional sniper lol, so doesnt need to be as precise as a precision rifle, so XCR it is.. and I Can find them alot more than an MDI platform.

I kept the mdi, sold the xcr and others.
No issue with the upper/ lower separation here.
And you can build one cheap if you don’t care about accuracy, you can’t make an xcr more than it is.
