Seals pretty good I'd say. I have about a .002" gap between the cover and the upper. I can push it closed a smidge more than where it catches but i cant fit a piece of paper between it and the upper

That’s exactly how mine fits. And I wouldn’t consider it a problem. The dust cover isn’t meant to seal off the upper it’s meant to block off a huge opening from getting tons of foreign material on the bolt carrier. And I could probably adjust the detent and make the gap even smaller but it won’t open banging it around but the carrier has no problem kicking it open. Mine is also an early first run SS upper with the large port. I haven’t tried it on my FA upper as I haven’t got around to building it yet.
This Strike Industries cover fits like a glove. No issues whatsoever. This one is plastic.
This Cover does not close. I'm holding it down, and you can still see the detent ball through the gap. This cover is aluminum.
Which one is which? They look the same all around, but one doesn't work.

It might only take a minor amount of screwing around to make the aluminum cover work, I don't know. I just went with the one that works because I ordered both at the same time.

Could be a result of your carrier not having a deep enough cutout. The detention housing appear to be deeper on the aluminum as the plastic one has a flat spot to provide more clearance. What BCG are you running?
Nah has nothing to do with the carrier. The gap is there even with the carrier removed. Its like because of the detent it wont fully close. But then when i go to lower the screw the dust cover wont lock close. Lmao cant win, I hate the design. I grabbed the enhanced ultimate as others have said it seals perfect.

So if anyone can ....say if one wanted to pimp out there ms..... what names ...brands ...would be the best ???...example jp bcg...parts etc..etc..barrels .....is one better than the other ...if so why .....
I got an itch ...to build mine but for the life of me I don’t know what parts I should get forstock ...black label with those Intergraded bipod legs ... just sweet I think ....barrel ???

If you're considering the BLK LBL handguard, it's a pretty sweet unit. Quality piece, well put together and excellent fit/finish. Just be prepared for a rather "fat" handguard. If you have big mitts, it's not a big deal. It's also not the lightest thing out there.
Anyways, here's a few pics of how it fits up with a MS upper:
