If it turns out to be reliable, good for Savage for bringing a new gun to the market. The more the merrier.
Will I buy one, no.
There are a lot of Americans who will buy it if it says "Made in USA", regardless of how it stacks up against the B guns (or the Winchesters and Remingtons).

There are still those who will confuse "made in USA" (or even "assembled in USA") with "high quality", which sadly, is not always true . The Americans can, and do, produce some truly nice stuff when it comes to guns (Kolar comes to mind) and ammunition, but I wouldn't buy any current Remington or Marlin at any price.
I personally hope the Savage is a hit, and that means more shooters on the range or field, but if it was my money, I'd be looking elsewhere.
