New savage

MSRP $1549 I have no intrest in it.

I think the butt stock is ugly and it looks like it has a fluted barrel, very weird for a shotgun.
 
If you look at all the odd stuff people buy anymore, maybe weird sells. It has the most adjustable stock available in its class. You can really extend LOP. On the heavy side, which I like for a Waterfowl gun. If it turns out to be reliable, good for Savage for bringing a new gun to the market. The more the merrier.

Will I buy one, no.

Just my opinion but they picked a hard market to break into at the $1500 US price tag . There is a lot of B gun semis on that shelf . The adjustable lop and comb are nice but lines of the gun are bit ugly . Personally I don't see it being a seller .

I agree with this, it doesn't excite me but new innovation is good for everyone.

I just don't see who would shell out $1,500USD for this when there are so many other good options out there for equal or less $.
 
There are a lot of Americans who will buy it if it says "Made in USA", regardless of how it stacks up against the B guns (or the Winchesters and Remingtons).

Yup. When american companies make their stuff overseas that leaves a market for those who chose american jobs over profits. (Be it real or the image they portray)
 
Way too radical looking for my liking. I think its one ugly gun. And that price is far too high to appeal to the masses. Savage should have stayed away from those radical designs to help keep the price down. They must have a lot of confidence trying to introduce an unknown alternative into an already saturated market at a price point equal to and above some of the mainstays. I wish them luck with this offering

No they won't any more since made in USA means assembled in USA at best now with most
Those days are gone with us yanks sadly of true made in the usa

There are still those who will confuse "made in USA" (or even "assembled in USA") with "high quality", which sadly, is not always true . The Americans can, and do, produce some truly nice stuff when it comes to guns (Kolar comes to mind) and ammunition, but I wouldn't buy any current Remington or Marlin at any price.

I personally hope the Savage is a hit, and that means more shooters on the range or field, but if it was my money, I'd be looking elsewhere.

Yes but we are getting smarter by the day. I just got burned with a new pair of irish setter boots which I have worn for years . They were reported to be still made in USA or shall I say were :( Sadly I found out after they arrived they are just assembled with crap pieces
