Brownell's Dos and Don'ts

I placed an order a couple weeks back for some AR parts and springs and a shotgun magtube extension and got a email from Sandy that I needed to sign the export forms and end user cert , which is no problem.
But I also needed to call the Minister of foreign affairs for an import certificate , which I have never had to do before . After going back and forth with her that I have never had to do that before , she said it was the Nordic shotgun tube extension that was causing the problem. I had her remove it from the order and the rest of the order shipped no problem, no forms required as I was under $100 .
Anyone else run into this ?
I assume an import certificate is not as easy as a phone call and would be a pain in the azz ?

Anyone else having issues purchasing BCGs from Brownells recently?
I placed two orders taking advantage of their Boxing day sale. Both were under $500 US with discount codes.
Order 1 was straight forward - they sent me an agreement which I signed and returned and so far as I know it is on its way.
Order 2 sat and not much happened - until today. I got an email from Sandy stating that an export license was required ($250 US) to proceed. After some emails it was due to the BCG (Rubber City Armoury) which I figured was because they didnt have the correct export paperwork to sell internationally. No problem, I found another Brownells branded BCG that was pretty much identical and sent the details to remove the original and replace with this.
I got this back:

The classification is the same, both are deemed I(g) regulated/restricted items per our Dept. of State. This would be true of all Bolt Carrier Groups.
Anyone else have issues with this? Or has my sh1t luck struck again?

Yup, its changed - this is what they are saying:
Per your inquiry unfortunately the classification change went in to effect as of Jan. 3. We had filed a classification jurisdiction with our Dept. of State, arguing the changing of the status and unfortunately we lost the argument. But we had been able to keep the I(h) classification longer, but that has now ended.
My order was placed before this took effect so I have asked if that makes a difference but I doubt it will.

Like I suspected they will not honour either.
As the shift in the classification moved the item to regulated/restricted, the I(g) category, they will not honor “grandfather in” per the date. If the classification was going down, they probably would have but unfortunately no. Our Dept. of State has all new officers and they are not seasoned at all.
Feel kinda short changed as my order was placed before the change in regulations. Sure sounds like more government red tape which is no good for anyone except the smug bureaucrats.
I imagine it would be the BS to bring in parts via a third party importer?
