Mossberg 940 JM Pro

I am not sure now why I am worried about my semi shotguns if a 10 shot capacity will be approved under the new liberal BS coming. Over six shot was toast in NZ
You guys honestly think this has a chance in canada in 2020. I sure don't but that is just me
Just my 2 cents
Cheers

This gun will never come to Canada in its current configuration with that 9 shot magazine. Im pretty sure thats why we didn't get the high capacity 930 snow goose models.

If the 940 ever comes to Canada it would do so only with a 5 shot capacity mag tube. And this is going by todays standards not what could be with any new laws heading our way

I wasnt referring to the 940. I was referring to the statement you made about the 930 with extended tube you mentioned in post 5

I had a local shop look into ordering me one with equal length tubes and Mossberg was going to send one with a plug in it. When I was looking there was also more than one online store with the extended tubes.

And at the end of the day all it takes is 40 seconds and threading a cap instead of an extension on if Mossberg wanted to make a “Canada” model....

Are you overestimating how fast they’ll get anything done?

The shotguns are expected to be arriving in 30-60 days to the stores according to a lady at Mossberg.

So. Am I going to spend money on a item I may lose or at best a safe queen
I had enough of those over the years with the prohib BS
This guy will wait to see what the list looks like
You think fitting a plug is going to make the extended tube models Ok. Good luck and I hope you are right
To each their own
Cheers

Good thing it’s not you who wants to buy one then. Thanks for coming out

Do you even shoot 3-gun? If so, play with your toys until you can't and stop whining about lost money - it's a money pit of a sport anyways. If you don't... well, it's not for you anyways, bye!

Just being realistic and no I would not buy one right now but hey like I say to each their own. Bought my first semi shotgun in 65 when I was told not to because it was being banned and have it to this day and shot the crap out of it so too a gamble then
Sorry but this time I have a bad feeling in my gut and not willing to gamble now since I think they will follow the NZ pattern and over 6 is toast but maybe wrong
Cheers

What difference does it make what the gun is used for. Yep that will make it OK
But Justin won't care you need it for three gun
I just think it is a real roll of the dice right now a 10 round semi shotgun and I have no extra money to burn

Bye for now .Too old for this foolishness
Best of luck with your new purchase and I HOPE 100% I am wrong and you have it in 55 years like me and my first semi
Cheers

Threading a cap on is exactly what Mossberg did to make a Canada models and would do the same on the 940. Have you physically seen an extended mag model in the store or are you going based on what you see online? Most online retailers selling a JM pro series will show a stock image with the mag extension, but it will be detailed in the notes that the gun is actually a 1+5 not a 1+9. Here is an example

https://selectshootingsupplies.com/930-jm-pro-series-autoloaders/

If you placed an order, you likely would not have received it. Mossberg putting a wooden plug in the gun that could be removed by simply unthreading a mag cap is not the permanent alteration required by Canadian regs regarding centerfire semi’s.

I just watched a review on YouTube and apparently they are only 3" guns. Too bad, they look nice, but if they can't hold as much ammo as the 3.5" options currently available I don't see them selling too well.
