Remove all factory grease and oil. Go to a target range and shoot between 25 and 100, trap, skeet, and/or sporting clays and repeat as often as you can afford and are enjoying yourself. When you get home clean the bore as well you can, and apply a light film of gun oil or rust preventative. Repeat this procedure as many times as you wish. The more the better.
this is true. rilfes and black powder rifles are said to need breaking in but i don't see it with shotguns. but then again maybe they do ,HeHe. shoot daily as money and time allow.
No, I mean clean it and shoot it. From new. After that then its shoot it then clean it. Personally I clean my firearms before and after I use them. I'll admit I'm not always faithful when it comes to cleaning before I shoot.
Don't you mean that repeat IS necessary? The shootin part that is? I think that I have convinced my better half that to break in a fine shot gun properly it needs to be shot at least a couple times a week til next year when I will probably have to go through this process again with another gun. Actually she is brighter than that and knows that all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy! Since I do not have a smokin cynergy icon, will have to do
Covey ridge,
You are correct. Not only is regular usage required for the firearm it is also required by the operator. Its a matter of safety....For the children...
