Anyone gone out on the island yet at all for deer? I am stuck hunting on the island this summer as I wont get time off till after the season is over so I have been going out some weekends behind Duncan and Chemainus for deer and bear.
So far I haven't come across any deer sign at all really, and i've gone up elevation and all the way down with no sign except the odd print, which are rarely that new.
I did see one bear way up near mt whysper (sp?) behing Nanaimo but it was too juvenile.
where do you guys speculate the deer are mainly right now in terms of elevation, terrain, etc? and any of you have any tips to share with the deer around here? i'm relatively new to hunting for them here and have yet to have any luck.
