I'm on my second ACR and don't recall any wear or damage anywhere and my first one had well over 1000 rounds through it before I sold it.

its a known issue thats pretty common. it only really causes damage if you let the bolt slam home with the CH in the rear position or rack the CH and let if fly home. if you try to avoid that then it shouldn't progress.
