Scope Options for Crosman NP2

Do I need to get a special airgun scope for a Crosman Summit NP2 22 cal at 950 fps?

It seems like I should not use a rifle scope but rather a specific airgun scope but I am no expert.

Ok, so I will be good with an old Bushnell to start out then get some nice rimfire scope for it and not worry, that is what I was wondering.
 
NPs still have almost the same recoil. It's the exact same system with a piston instead of a spring. A good cheap option would be a Leapers scope. They can be bought at D&L Airgun, and lots of people have been using them with great success, they're designed to handle airgun recoil. In my experience, most Bushnells also hold up just fine.

That is what I was looking for, I have a 2.5x sportview on it as I had one kicking around but getting a Bushnell would be easier to find than a Leapers locally.

I will check out Leapers.

How is D&L to deal with?

Fully aware of that, this is the reason I am asking on this forum, I know that springers are bad but I was not sure about the nitro piston guns.

They've been fine in my experience, and the experience of many others. I wouldn't hesitate to buy from them again.
 
Anyone use Centerpoint? These are the Crosman scopes.

I guess I am a bit iffy about mail order places that have no store and are simply online, seems to be a number of them for airgun stuff.
 
Centerpoint actually has been impressive to me at the price point. I had a Benjamin NP rifle, and the Centerpoint scope was the only thing I kept.
 
I just called Bushnell, anything above Banner in their catalog is rated for air rifles, spring and NP.

He specifically said that the Trophy series is what he would use, this is the technical support guy. How the parallax would work on that scope I am not sure, but they are built to take it, all warranties are valid when used on an air rifle as long as it is Trophy and up.

Gives a few more options for brick and mortar shops.
 
One important thing to keep in mind is that you want any adjustable focus scope to be able to focus down to 10 yards. Most scopes by Vortex and others that focus on centerfire won't drop below 50 yards. Bushnell usually goes lower, and optics meant for air rifles like Hawke, Optisan, Leapers, etc all focus down to 10 yards, and sometimes as few as 3 yards.
